Charlie Voeltzel - Prix Résidence (Residency Prize) C-14 Paris
Winner of the “Prix Résidence” (Residency Prize) , awarded by Keramis during the Salon C-14 in Paris in October 2023, Charlie Voeltzel spent 50 days and 50 nights in the museum’s studio. Equipped with pre-designed plaster molds, he moved into the residency in La Louvière in the summer of 2024.
Inspired by the workers of the Boch Manufacture, he developed an almost industrial process to reproduce thousands of chicken eggs in Limoges porcelain. Stacked on pallets to form a compact mass, the installation presents a critical perspective on battery farming for laying hens. This work focuses on the accumulation of a universal, symbolic, and above all, nourishing form: the egg.
