Born in Paris in 1967, François Curlet is a contemporary artist. He moved to Brussels at the age of 22 and now works between Belgium and France.

Since the end of the 1980s, he has been developing a body of work in which the material world is dismantled, disrupted and distorted through everyday poetry. Like ready-mades, he stages diverted or counter-used objects in a defined space to which a narration is added. Curlet's work is imbued with humor and generates dialogues that refer to artistic culture and popular culture.

In 2020, he is invited to think of an edition in Atelier de Keramis. François Curlet imagines a mega mug that would follow the curves of a female bust. Shaped by Olivia Mortier, technician ceramist of the museum, the series will give birth to 8 disproportionate mugs.
